Chicago Cubs Lineup: Hammel Pitching, Contreras Catching
I’m not certain that I’m quite over last night’s epic win yet, at least not while I’m typing this at 9 a.m. in a San Diego hotel room. I’m getting ready to hop in the car and make the drive up to Los Angeles to see the Boys in Blue take on the Dodgers and I’m pretty pumped that I get to rerun Kris Bryant’s two huge home runs over and over in my mind while driving up the beautiful California coastline. It’s a great time to be a Cubs fan.
There is a game today so while I’m driving you all should be checking out the lineup and getting prepared for what should be another fun day. For today’s main course, the Chicago Cubs (82-45) and Jason Hammel (13-6, 3.07 ERA) will be looking to take a big bite out of rookie Dodger pitcher Julio Urias (4-2, 3.95 ERA).
Hammel will be looking to rebound from the shellacking he took in Colorado against the Rockies where he gloriously ended he 22 inning scoreless streak by getting nailed for seven runs in the first inning. Yes, Jason, I’m hoping that is all out of your system and now you’re ready to get back to dominating.
