Ian Happ May Be Called Up

Speculation is running high that top prospect Ian Happ may be called up to fill in on a temporary basis. The Cubs are battling injuries and could use the versatile Happ to get them through the weekend.

A call-up would also serve as both a reward for Happ’s strong performances in Mesa and Iowa and a showcase should the Cubs want to make a move for pitching.

My money’s on Jon Jay — who left Friday’s game with back spasms — going to the DL to make room.
