Reports: Cubs Closing on Cobb, Another Late-Inning Reliever in Addition to Morrow
The Cubs are closing in on several pitchers today before the Winter Meetings officially get going on Monday. Brandon Morrow has reportedly already agreed to a contract and Bruce Levine reports that the Cubs are “close on Alex Cobb.” Then there’s Ken Rosenthal’s info that another unidentified reliever is being targeted by the aggressive Cubs executives.
Morrow will have deal with cubs. Expected to be for 10 or 11M a year.

#Cubs close on Brandon Morrow, per @MLBBruceLevine. Had mentioned last week they were considering him to close. Likely will sign one other late-inning reliever as well.

Maybe Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer just wants to get their winter shopping out of the way so that they can enjoy the mid-70ss weather poolside in Orlando.
