Chicago Cubs Lineup: Bryant Cleans Up in RF, Lester Takes on Nola
Daniel Murphy leads off at second base, Javy Baez hits second at short, and Anthony Rizzo bats third at first base. Kris Bryant starts in right for the 28th time in his career, Kyle Schwarber handles the other corner, and Willson Contreras is behind the plate.
Ian Happ is in center with David Bote playing third and batting ninth.
Jon Lester will be looking to keep his roll going against a Phillies team that hasn’t managed much offense through two games thus far. Lester has really looked better over the last few games as he stopped pitching by stubbornly trying to force the issue.
Attempting to swing the series in Philly’s favor is Aaron Nola, the third Cy Young candidate the Cubs have faced in the last few weeks. Time’s running too short for an extensive scouting report, but suffice to say Nola is really good and the Cubs are going to have to be on their game to do anything against him.
First pitch of the rubber game is set for 12:35pm CT and can be viewed on WGN and TBS (out of market only) or heard on 670 The Score.
