Watch: David Bote Delivers Walk-Off Winner
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but David Bote came through in the clutch to deliver a game-winning RBI. After Pedro Strop blew the save opportunity in the top half of the ninth, Javy Báez doubled down the RF line and took advantage of a misplay to advance to third (because, El Mago, of course). After Willson got hit by a pitch, that brought Bote to the plate. As he’s done several times before, Bote delivered an opposite-field single to bring Javy home and give the Cubs a series victory over the DBacks.

As if that wasn’t good enough, Bote then told Kelly Crull that he had to rush out of Wrigley to catch a flight as his wife is expected to deliver their third child this evening. Wow!
As I’m walking over to ask Bote for this interview he says “we have to make it quick, I’ve got a flight to catch! They’re inducing my wife tonight!” How awesome is that💙Safe travels & prayers to the Bote’s as number 3 is on the way! #Cubs #walkoff #FlyTheW #HappyEaster https://t.co/wNY85JBfKj
