Cubs Fan Holiday Gift Guide: Unique Finds for Budget Conscious Fans

If you’re reading this post, chances are good that you know a Cubs fan who would love to open up a Cubs-related present this holiday season. That’s why I’ve curated this handy guide of unique Cubs gifts from Cubs fan artists and friends, along with some of the best Cubs gear and memorabilia on the sale rack at the MLB Shop.

I set myself up with two rules for this gift guide: 1) Every present has to be under $40 (with a couple of exceptions), and 2) It had to be something I’d give or would love receiving. Ready. Set. Shop!

First, I’d like to highlight the work of independent artists. I am a collector of the Cubs artwork of my great friend Matt Kammerer, who has numerous Cubs prints for sale in his Permanent Paintings Etsy Shop. The 11×14 Ernie Banks from Matt’s Map Series is only $35.

Another Cubs fan baseball artist is Rikk Carlson, whose Art of Baseball Etsy Shop has many different Cubs prints to choose from, including this Willson Contreras Watercolor Print for just $25.

There’s also my friend Bill Watts, an accomplished woodworker who specializes in crafty Cubs signs. Bill’s signs at Fly the Wood Designs break my $40 rule, but at least the money goes directly to the artist!

Know someone whose quarantine project was starting a Cubs Fan Cave? Help put their project over the top with the awesome work of Cathy Weadley at Wallsportist. Custom Cubs murals and Wrigley brick work are her specialty!

And how about some Game Used Cubs jewelry made by my friend Ballhawk Dave. You see him every day at Wrigley with a giant mitt overcharging visiting fans for water. He makes jewelry out of baseballs and has an Etsy store!

Artist Jon Teegs is a Cubs fan and Twitter personality who will draw you and your pet into Mandalorian characters!

Look what he did with me and my Son Ranto Show co-host, Crawly!

Another incredibly unique and personalized gift would be to commission a song from me, as the Ryan family did a few years ago for a 50th Anniversary. I can write originals or parodies in multiple genres and even make a video for you. Prices vary depending on what you want! Email me at dannyrockett@gmail.com to discuss!

Then there’s the hardest working Cubs fan in the T-Shirt business, my friend Joe Johnson from Obvious Shirts. Our text exchange confirmed what I suspected.

There’s an Obvious Shirts Black Friday sale a-coming!

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>1 ITEM = 10% OFF • 2 ITEMS = 20% OFF • 3 ITEMS = 30% OFF • 4+ ITEMS = 40% OFF SITE WIDE! Includes already discounted items too. Sale starts Tomorrow at 6pm central! <a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/BlackFridaySale?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>#BlackFridaySale</a> <a href=”https://t.co/5gzXRylhYl”>pic.twitter.com/5gzXRylhYl</a></p>&mdash; OBVIOUS SHIRTS® (@obvious_shirts) <a href=”https://twitter.com/obvious_shirts/status/1463510682578661385?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>November 24, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

But there are already lots of great deals already on the Clearance Rack. Sadly, all the shirts referring to our dearly departed Cubs core are deeply discounted. Be prepared to show your hatred or love of the expected addition of the DH in 2022 with this Clearance Rack find. Only $15!

Pitchers are Bad

Now let’s get into the more traditional Cubs clothing, memorabilia, and branded gear.

I was surprised at some of the great deals you can get right now at the MLB Shop, especially on hoodies. Some are selling at less than half the original price and $20-40 for quality is a bargain these days.

This one is my favorite and only $35 if anyone wants to buy it for me.

Also a fan of this handsome Mitchell and Ness pullover.

For the ladies, there are even better deals and more styles available!

This Alyssa Milano-designed women’s zip-up is only $20.99.

And this women’s Cubs hoodie is only 1/3 of its original price!

Of course, buying a shirt or hoodie for someone else can be difficult when it comes to sizing. But you can accessorize with a one-size-fits-all present!

I dig this Cubs Trapper hat, perfect for those April night games.

How about a Cubs scarf to go with it for only $15!?

And I wouldn’t mind getting a 3 pack of these Cubs socks, only $15 on clearance!

How about some useful Cubs branded tech like this credit card USB drive? Only $20!

Keep your phone charged at Wrigley with a Cubs power bank.

Avoid the high price of alcohol and tote your own booze along with this nifty Cubs flask!

Or fuel up with your favorite caffeinated hot beverage in this Cubs mug. There are tons of tumblers and mugs in the MLB Shop clearance section!

Buying a present for a Cubs fan kid? I would have loved to have received this Cubs gift set back in the 80s! Currently 1/2 price!

Do you know a kid who’s training for baseball? CI’s founder Evan Altman suggested these tools for the aspiring ballplayer. Help a budding hitter with these Driveline mini hitting plyos.

And a Pitcher with these weighted plyoballs.

How about something for the memorabilia collector?

I dig this Cubs sugar skull.

For the baseball card collector, here’s an old Ron Santo card.

An Ernie Banks medallion.

Or for the Wild Thing in your life, a Mitch Williams autograph!

Here’s something they probably don’t have. A pen filled with authentic Wrigley dirt!

Also, do this website a solid and shop at Cubs Insider’s affiliate Sports World, located right across the street from Wrigley Field. They carry tons of great gifts and souvenirs with deep discounts!

So there it is. My budget-friendly gift picks for the 2021 holiday season. You don’t need to be intelligent to be like Jed Hoyer by spending intelligently this winter.
