Join Anthony Rizzo’s Home Run Challenge to Benefit Kids and Families Battling Cancer

I’m no expert when it comes to raising money though donations, but even I know that if you make something fun and easy you’re more likely to get people involved. Allowing folks to give a little at a time and tying the donations to specific milestones is another good idea. Oh, being famous helps.

Those are all at play in Anthony Rizzo’s Home Run Challenge, a fundraising campaign that allows donors to tie a specific amount ($5, $10, $25, $50, or $100) to every tater the big first baseman bakes this season. The pledges will be run after each homer, so it’s not like you’ve got to save up your pennies in the hopes that you can cover that $200 invoice at the end of the year. The goal is to raise $300,000 for cancer research and to support children and their families battling the disease.
